Sawmill White Pepper Gravy

Sawmill White Pepper Gravy

This Sawmill White Pepper Gravy is creamy-smooth with a robust savory flavor. The zesty pepper kick is perfect for your breakfast biscuits!

If you’re an allergy sufferer like my wife then this is the gravy for you! One morning my poor wife woke up and could hardly breathe. So I prepared this zesty gravy potion to help clear her congestion, and it worked like a charm!

We smothered our biscuits with the savory goodness, but it can be an excellent compliment for your mashed potato side dish as well. However you choose to use the Sawmill White Pepper Gravy it’s sure to relieve those congested allergies!

  • 5 tbsp flour
  • 3/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 tbsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups milk (divided)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

1. Prepare the roux.

Melt the butter in a pan and slowly add your flour (I added 1 tbsp at a time) and continue whisking until ingredients thicken.

2) Add 1 cup of milk to the roux.

Slowly add the milk while whisking the roux. The mixture will begin to resemble mashed potatoes.

3) Add 1/2 cup heavy cream

Slowly add the heavy cream while whisking. The mixture will begin to resemble cake icing.

4) Slowly add 1 cup milk

Slowly add the last cup of milk and continue whisking.

5) Add all dry ingredients

Add all the dry ingredients and continue whisking until you reach the consistency you like.
